Georgia Grey Top Picks for Maternity Clothes

My Top Places to Shop for Maternity Clothes

I get asked a lot the best places to buy maternity clothes. No one wants to break the bank during this short fun time, however, we still have to get dressed! Not gonna lie, I hold out and wear my regular clothes as long as humanly possibly. For pants, I love the Belly Button Band; it allows you to wear your non-maternity jeans or dress pants, unbuttoned/unzipped with this compression band that goes around that looks like the end of a tank top. It flattens out the button or clasp and if you wear with a longer shirt/sweater no one can tell the difference.  Here is my round up of my fave places for maternity clothes and why I love them (including some old photos of some of the pieces mentioned below)

Gap or Old Navy or Uniqlo

For basics like tanks, long sleeve t-shirts, leggings, dresses. I stick to really basics in primary colors here – they will last you several pregnancies, not fade after tons of washings and are great layering pieces or bum around on the weekend options.

Rosie Pope

I haven’t bought much from her maternity line, except two pairs of shorts off Gilt. The belly band is so comfy and they fit really nicely. Pricey but super cute stuff.

By far, hands down, my #1 pick for maternity pieces. They have the best dresses, pants, selection of everything and the price point is completely affordable.

I tend to splurge on this as a gift to myself that will go through postpartum. When you’re running on fumes with little sleep and nursing babe every 2 hours, a nice, easily accessible button down set can brighten your days. Throw your unwashed hair in a messy bun, brush your teeth, a little lip gloss and mascara and you’re practically runway ready! (didn’t you know lounge wear is IN!?) My go sets are eberjay or washable silk from Lunya.

This is one category I completely splurge on. As I can wear jeans to work every day and knowing (hopefully) we were going to have a large family, I knew these would be good investment pieces. I find the best places for premium denim are Nordstrom, Shopbop, A Pea in the Pod and occasionally Gilt where you can snag Citizens, Madewell, AG, Rag and Bone and more.

super comfortable, more durable leggings. Plus the SEXIEST faux leather maternity leggings that go with everything! Pair them with a chunky sweater and heels/booties with fun earrings or a basic t, fur vest, and fun sneakers for more casual. I live in these and wish they made more colors than just black!

  • Winter Coat – I bought a Large from Uniqlo in their puffer coat for $79 – zips up over the belly, their heat trace technology keeps you super warm even thought you can fold it into a ball.
  • Tights – Asos or Spanx
  • Undies – I just bought these from Kindred Bravely and they are so soft! Otherwise size up in whatever granny panty brand you like. Trust me, you need to be comfortable.

I know, I know, I’m missing Target and so many others! Where are other good spots you’ve found deals or even pieces you like to splurge on during this exciting time?! You’re growing a human – ah! Congrats!
